In total, we need $170,000 to $260,000 in cash within the next 3 years. We started this journey since 2015 when we started working after college graduation in 2014.
In reality, it is tough to rely on savings based on paycheque as the single income source. A salaried employee would receive 3 to 10% increment on a yearly basis. We then decided to try investment to let our money work harder for us. Being young truly has time on our side. We started to invest as early as possible to ride through several investment cycles, market volatility and enjoy long-term compounding returns. We had to set our thresholds – cut loss at 10% etc.
