What Their Customers Are Saying
Don’t just take it from us, let their customers do the talking!
“..Nakatanidou (中谷堂) freshly made mochi is filled with red bean paste and it’s absolutely delicious, also equally good is the crunchy biscuit..”
The sun was bright and the clouds were clear for our Day Trip to Nara, to visit the famed Nara Deer Park and Tōdai-ji (東大寺, Eastern Great Temple).
We chose to take a slow walk through the bustling street from the woody Nara Station. It was about 1KM away from our Tōdai-ji checkpoint when we saw the famous Nakatanidou.
We bought some hand-made Mochi to eat on the spot as recommended by Trip Advisor. Nakatanidou also sells assorted biscuits and it was this humbly looking packet of biscuits that drew our attention.
Tempted by its “deer-like” appearance, we decided to just buy 1 packet to try first. It didn’t have a strong smell and comes in various shape, sizes and taste. It was crunchy but not too hard for the elderly, wasn’t too sweet and has its own unique biscuit flavor that seems to indulge you in the beauty of Nara.
We bought 5 packets.
